Telehealth

Telehealth is another convenient and easily accessible service that can be utilised to provide services to your child if mobile therapy isn’t an option for you.

Telehealth is the delivery of assessment and therapy services at a distance by linking practitioners to clients and their support network (if appropriate), via technology such as web-based videoconferencing.

Telehealth can deliver supports equivalent in quality to those delivered in-person. It is proven to support children to achieve positive, functional outcomes.

Reasons for choosing telehealth might include:

  • Families living in rural or remote regions when access to service might not exist or be limited;
  • Families who cannot access services in their state or territory due to long waiting list times;
  • A therapist can’t access your child’s location to provide therapy (e.g. Your child is home sick); or
  • A parent consultation during your lunch break if you’re short on time
